POE Dow‑DuPont 8480

POE Dow‑DuPont 8480

POE Dow‑DuPont 8480 delivers outstanding performance in footwear foaming and profile extrusion fields, and is also widely used for plastic toughening modification. Its remarkable advantages include good transparency, high toughness and favorable compatibility with polyolefins.

Main Applications

Mainly applied to footwear materials, cross‑linked foamed materials, as well as profile extrusion for pipes and flexible hoses.

It is also commonly used for toughening modification of PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene) and PA (nylon). For example, it is adopted to produce components such as bumpers, fenders and steering wheels in the automotive industry.

It can also be used for insulation layers and sheaths of wires and cables, as well as various industrial articles such as rubber hoses and conveyor belts.

Processing Parameters

Suitable for multiple processing technologies including extrusion, injection molding and compound molding.

Drying Treatment: Drying may be required if the package is damaged and the material is exposed to air. Refer to the official technical data sheet for specific drying parameters (temperature and duration), as such information is not specified herein.

Extrusion: It is the recommended processing method for pipes and flexible‑hose profiles for grade 8480. Processing temperature can be set with reference to its melting temperature (approx. 99°C), while actual processing temperature shall be significantly higher for sufficient plasticization.

Injection Molding: Grade 8480 is also applicable for injection‑molding applications. Melt temperature shall be set above the melting point of the material; the exact range shall be determined according to product structure and dimensions.

Blending Modification: For blending with base resins such as PP and PE, pre‑blending of POE and base resin is recommended to achieve uniform dispersion.
